What is a transformation? A transformation are like rotations, reflections, and dilations.

Why is a dilated triangle not congruent to its preimage? A dilated triangle isn’t congruent to it’s preimage because of how it isn’t the same size, its bigger, it was dilated.

What would coordinates be for the triangle ABC after a dilation with scale factor 3?
    A (-3, 7) B (-3, 0) C (3, 7) = A’ (-9, 21) B’ (-9, 0) C’ (9, 21)

5)The pre-image triangle is smaller than the image.

6)I chose that example just because.

Image:a representation of the external form of a person or thing in art.

  74. 1. Adrian Gonzalez Period 6. 2. What is a transformation? It is a way of a shape changing and/or moving. 3. Why is a dilated triangle not congruent to its preimage? Because after its dilated it has changed its shape and form. 4. After a scale factor of three: A(-9,21) B(-9,0) C(9,21). 5. I chose “pizza box”. 6. Since it shows a clear difference between a preimage and image. 7. Preimage, image, and rotation. 8. Image: A point or set formed by mapping from another point or set. preimage: The original figure prior to a transformation. rotation: The conceptual operation of turning a system around an axis.

  75. Name: Vanesa period: 6
Transformation is a through or dramatic change in form or appearance
A dilated triangle isn’t congruent to a preimage because they are not the same shape
    A'(-9,21) B'(-9,0) C'(9,21)
    Pine tree
I choose this example because line trees are cool
The words that they used was preimage, image, dilation
A preimage is the main picture that you did first
Dilation is to make the size bigger,or double the size
An image is the copy of the preimage

A transformation is a general term for four specific ways to manipulate the shape of a point, a line, or shape.

    Bc the dilation changes size

    A'(-6,10)B'(-6,3)A'(6,10)

    Eye balls

I chose this example bc it was neat and appealing.

A transformation is a general term for four specific ways to manipulate the shape of a point, a line, or shape.

A dilation is a transformation (notation ) that produces an image that is the same shape as the original, but is a different size. A dilation stretches or shrinks the original figure.

A pre image is the original figure prior to a transformation.

The image is the image after the transformation.

Congruent sides or segments have the exact same length. Congruent angles have the exact same measure.

A reflection is when you flip a shape over.

  78. NAME ______JulianaTorres________ and PERIOD NUMBER ___4_.
What is a transformation?A transformation is reflectin translation and rotations
Why is a dilated triangle not congruent to its preimage? It is not have same sides
What would coordinates be for the triangle ABC after a dilation with scale factor 3?
    A (-3, 7) B (-3, 0) C (3, 7) congruent the best
Choose one example from the Gallery and give it a name, like “Pizza Box”.
Say why you chose the example.
List the math vocabulary words the student used. Like “preimage, reflect, image”.
Look up on the internet and write the official definition for all of the math words they used. A preimage that is used befor transformation image that is used before transformation image an image after a transformation

  79. Normalicia Cervantes period 3
Transformation is all; diation, translation, rotation, reflection.
Dilation makes an image enlarge or reduce its size.
    A'(-9,21) B'(-9,0) C'(9,21)
Their sentence was simple and easy to understand.
    Preimage and image
Preimage-an image that is used before a transformation
    Image-an image after a transformation

  80. Transformation is when you move a shape anyway like translation, rotation, dilation, and reflection.
A dilated triangle is not congruent to its pre-image because it will not be the same size.
    A'(-9, 21) B'(-9,0) C'(9,21)
I chose the sixth example because it was easy to understand what the definition of dilation means. Dilation, transformation, and similar
    6. Dilation-expanding or enlarging
    Transformation-change
    Similar-almost the same

  81. 1.Carlos Alcantara Period 3 2. Transformation is when you move an image anyway
    3. It will not be the same size
    4. A'(-9,21) B'(-9,0) C'(9,21)
    5. I chose the 5th picture because it explained what a reflection was and it is called “picture”
    6. I chose this example because he/she drew nice and it had a very nice explanation
    7. they chose transformation, image and pre image
    8. reflection- A transformation where a figure is flipped over a line
image- the resulting figure after a transformation
preimage- the original figure before a transformation

  82. 1. luis perez period 6
    2. Transformation is all; dilation, translation, rotation, reflection.
    3. It is not congruent because even though they have the same shape,
    the size will change.
    4. A'(-9,21) B'(-9,0) C'(9,21).
    5. I choose the “pizza box.
    6. reflection dilation translation transformation.
    7. Reflection, Rotation, and Translation.
    8. Preimage- the image before a transformation.
Image- The image after a transformation.
    Rotate-To rotate round a circle.

  83. Oscar Eduardo Reyes Torres, Period 4

Transformation is a change or a conversion, involving shapes being translated, reflected, and rotation.

Dilation would change how the size of the triangle, which means dilation doesn’t
work as a transformation. Congruence has to have the same shape, and same size.

    A’ (-9, 21) B’ (-9, 0) C’ (9, 21)

I chose a little born infant.

I chose the little born infant because eventually an infant changes it’s size and shape.

Pre-image Definition: The inverse image or pre-image of a particular subset S of the co domain of a function is the set of all elements of the domain that map to the members of S. Image and inverse image may also be defined for general binary relations, not just functions.

Reflect Definition: A reflection is a mirror image.

Image Definition: The new position of a point, a line, a line segment, or a figure after a transformation is called its image.

  84. a translation is a image that is moved away
if an image is dilated it is not congruent because it has enlarged. (the def. of congruent means same size and shape.)
The new coordinates would be a(-9,21), b(-9,0),c(9,21)
choose the “sisters” photo because i have a sister
reflection:the act of reflecting, as in casting back a light or heat, mirroring, or giving back or showing an image; the state of being reflected in this way
congruent:Geometry. coinciding at all points when superimposed
image:a physical likeness or representation of a person, animal, or thing, photographed, painted, sculptured, or otherwise made visible.
